XXII Commonwealth Games Birmingham 2022

  The XXII Commonwealth Games, also known as Birmingham 2022, were an international multi-sport event for participants from the Commonwealth of Nations that took place in Birmingham, England from July 28 to August 8, 2022.   The Commonwealth Games will be held in Birmingham for the third time in England after Manchester in 2002 and London in 1934. This will be the seventh time that the Games will be held in the United Kingdom following Glasgow in 2014, Cardiff in 1958, and Edinburgh in 1970, and London in 2002.   The Games, which included 72 participant countries and 1.2 million ticket sales, were the biggest ones ever. The Para and non-Para games were held concurrently for the first time at a significant international multisport competition. Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games

  As part of the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, Pakistan's great javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem earned a gold medal for his nation on Monday morning.   Nadeem set a record with a javelin throw of 86.81 metres during the opening round of the competition.   Arshad achieved an 88-meter throw on his second attempt, shattering his own record. He then continued to dominate the list on his fourth attempt with an 85.09-meter throw.   The Olympian became the first Pakistani to hold the mark after setting a new CWG record with a throw of 90.18 metres on her fifth try.   Neeraj Chopra of India's throws of 87.58 metres (Gold) at the Tokyo Olympics and 88.13 metres (World Athletics Championship) were defeated by Arshad Nadeem.   This is Pakistan's second gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
